How to Work with Blocks: ideas and adaptations

30 mins - This workshop features a set of familiar postures and a series of short sequences on how to use blocks successfully. Blocks are useful props to help make yoga more accessible to all, enabling people to build up their strength and flexibility over time. They also help adapt postures for different anatomies and body types and can augment and enhance the practice of more experienced yogis.

The Ultimate Warm-Down

46 mins - This session runs through in detail my own tried-and-tested warm down, that I have been doing at the end of training sessions for years. As with all my sessions, you can choose to grab shorter sequences or run through the whole thing. This warm down really does work through every major muscle group and area in the body to give you all the warm-down stretches you need to keep supple, maintain your range of motion and avoid injury.

Breaking Down the Fundamentals of Yoga

49 mins - The first of my stream-anytime sessions is an easy-to-follow class, introducing you to the basics of all the key yoga postures and how they flow together. Using simple, straight forward instruction, and offering modification and adaption along the way, this accessible workshop allows anyone to try yoga and grasp a preliminary understanding of how each posture benefits the body.

From Top-to-Toe: An all-round yoga workout

47 mins - This class does as exactly as it says: works you from the top of your head to the bottom of your feet. This is a great yoga class for those days when you need to stretch out, relieve some tension and generally feel better. As with all my classes, you can do this as a beginner or a more advanced yoga bod.

Shoulder Saviours: Releasing tension and increasing movement

13 or 45 mins - This workshop allows you to grab a short shoulder stretch sequence ideal for taking a break from work, or in between training activities. Or stay with me for the whole workshop and you will have worked into every area of the shoulders, upper and middle back, feeling less tense and more flexible. As always, there are modifications along the way.

Make It Big!: Stretching it all out…

54 mins - This session is for those who want to get a bit of an extra work-out from a yoga class and hit a bit of a cardio peak, as well as work on your flexibility and strength. Nothing to do with the 1980s hit by Wham (thankfully…!) this class gradually increases the challenge levels, as well as the amount of space you take up on the mat. Incorporating lots of ‘full-body’ postures, it allows you to stretch out to your maximum height and width. You should finish feeling a little bit taller, a little bit more bendy and like you have achieved something. As always, there are plenty of options for those of you at beginner level.

Staying in The Sagittal Plane: No twists!

48 mins - I designed this session to stay as much as possible in the linear or sagittal plane i.e. moving forwards and back only. There are no wide, rotational or twisting positions specially for those people with lower back or restricted hip joint issues, and also for those people who frequently do sport in different planes like golf, tennis etc. to reset. It’s also a great workout if you’re just not in the mood for twisting! :)

Strengthening the Core Muscles

39 mins - This workshop focusses on strengthening the core area - the abdominal muscles, working in conjunction with the glutes, hamstrings and pelvic area. You can routinely practice the entire workshop, or take a few key moves away with you, to help build core strength - essential for good posture, easing lower back pain and maximising movement in both sports and the every day.

Hip Fixer: release tightness & improve flexibility

40 mins - This workshop focusses on improving the flexibility of the hip area, in particular the hip flexors, and the abductor & adductor muscle groups. It also helps to release tension and stretch through the full glute muscle range in the buttocks: max, med and min. Useful for most sports and other activities where leg & hip action is heavily involved, whether lifting, running or cycling etc.

Lovely Laterals

39 mins - This workshop takes you through a sequence of bends and stretches to help the flexibility and range of motion through the lateral sides of the body. Used in a wide variety of different sports and activities, this is often a neglected area of the body, which can result in sprains and strains. We start with the sternocleidomastoid muscle running down the neck - a source of tension, through the shoulder girdle to the intercostals, obliques and down through to the outer hip & thigh area and the TFL and IT band. As always you can run through the entire class or grab a shorter sequence or couple of poses that suit you, your body and your time frame.

Building Strength

35 mins - This session filmed early on a summer morning in my garden, is a shortish class designed to help build muscle tone and strength, with some full body poses and balances. Over time, this should help with proportional strength, core stability and range of motion. The soundtrack is slightly dominated by nature and a bit of traffic noise, but stick with it, and I think my voice still resonates enough for this to be enjoyable!

The Posterior Chain: Strength and flexibility for the back of the body

1 hr 1 min - This session works through a series of postures, that focus on improving the flexibility and strength along the back of the body, with particular focus on the hamstrings, through the glutes, and up through the spine. Many people neglect this area, and it can be the root cause of a lot of stiffness and pain, especially those who do a lot of weights.

Healthy Hamstring Workshop

34 mins - This workshop helps improve the hamstring area, one of the most common problem areas people seem to have. Used heavily in running, walking and jumping actions, they are susceptible to strains etc. especially if you don’t warm-up properly or suddenly moves, or if you do quad-dominant activities/sports such as cycling and power-lifting. Improving flexibility is key to maintaining healthy hamstrings.
