Teaching Yoga in Cape Cod

Flexible Mindset Flexibility Training Yoga poses and private client in Cape Cod

I’ve just come back from Cape Cod. That stunningly beautiful spit of land, that juts out off the eastern seaboard of the US, south of Boston. It’s one of my happy places, where one can pootle about past insanely pretty clapboard houses, with their perfectly manicured gardens, spend way too much money on an array of tasteful items and be exposed to endless stunning beaches, dunes, quiet pools and wildlife-filled marshlands. For an outdoorsy person, who feels truly contented when she is immersed in nature, peace & quiet, but also with a need for luxury and creature-comforts, Cape Cod really does deliver.

So when the opportunity arose to run some pro-bono classes for guests at my friends’ beautiful B&B, I jumped at the chance. I’m happiest teaching yoga to smaller groups, and in particular 1:1 instruction, as I feel I can give a more bespoke and genuine experience, as well as check that everyone is correctly aligned and are gaining maximum benefit for their own physiognomy, rather than being stuck at the back of a class of 25+ people, copying the person in front! In addition, to teach a more international crowd and outdoors, on a lawn, overlooking the Atlantic, was an opportunity not to be missed.

Unfortunately, the weather wasn’t in my favour for some of the time, as it was colder than normal for the time of year, but I still managed to hold a few classes, with some lovely people, including a couple from Vermont, who were interested in my hourly rate! However, by the time we factored in the cost of my flight and accommodation from the UK, it was a bit on the steep side! :)

It was so lovely of my friends to accommodate this at their B&B and it certainly ticked all my yoga boxes, including the chance to do my own practice, early in the morning on the beautiful dock in the bay. Truly inspiring…and just demonstrates what amazing opportunities can open up when you are a yoga instructor!
